It always tastes better when you're out there in the fresh air getting a little exercise but to us eating well is what it's all about.
We love to eat and we love to cook for you. Our food is healthy, delicious and abundant. Okanagan Kayaking guides are excellent cooks, with years of camp cooking experience.
We have a few "tried and true" perennial favorites from Ogopogo Kayak Tours that are hard to beat. Of course we're always looking for new recipes to add to our repertoire that feature delicious combinations of the highest quality ingredients.
We feature some local organic produce and we love to use fresh BC produce. We also love to use seafood bought locally and we're usually able to add freshly gathered seafood to our meals. Local mussels and other shellfish and crabs are all incredibly delicious!
Our choice for breakfast often depends on how soon we want to begin paddling in the morning. There is always a selection of teas, herbal teas or coffee. We serve only the best "fair trade coffee".
On our slow and easy mornings, we may prepare pancakes. The pancakes are served with fruit or real Canadian maple syrup.
Another great breakfast is hot cereal. We like to mix grains including semolina and 7-grain cereal and add dried fruit and nuts. We love papaya, mango, raisins and cranberries, roasted cashews and almonds. Spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg and brown sugar or honey it's a great start to our day.
Lunches is often Soup or Sandwiches. Our soups are all homemade and delicious. We bring a selection of rye and hearty breads and a variety of crackers. You might choose to top your bread with any of several types of cheeses, smoked oysters, pickles, tahini, hummus, cucumber, salami and other sausages, mustard, almond butter, jams and chocolate hazelnut spread. BC Apples and oranges or other fruit are served with lunch.
